Ice Climbing is always an exotic adventure. After all, there are not that many places in the world where you can go ice climbing and very few people ever get to try to sport. Indoor rock climbing and rock climbing on artificial man made walls has opened up the sport to many people. First time climbers get the try rock climbing for the very first time in the perceptual safety of a man made wall. Later, many of these climbers transition to outdoor climbing.
Recently I was at the Quebec International Ice Climbing Festival and had a change to try the man made ice climbing wall they had at the event. Something like this would sure be a hit in Newfoundland.
